In the third video of our Gaelic guide to Port st mary we visit the remnants of the Internment camp.
The commentary reads as follows:
I am on the beach now in Port st mary
And in the second world war Port st Mary was an internment camp
And there were loads of aliens staying here; on the promenade for the most part
Nothing is left of the camp now except these two posts
In the second world war there was a wire running into the sea here but that’s all that’s left now
