The famous Laxey Wheel has stopped turning.
The iconic monument has temporarily halted after suffering a mechanical failure earlier this week.
The Director of Manx National Heritage Edmund Southworth has confirmed an assessment is underway to find out what needs to be fixed.
The wheel was completed in 1854 to pump water from the depths of the Laxey mines using water from Glen Mooar to power the wheel.
The site remains open to the public from Saturday to Wednesday, 10am to 4pm
