There are plans to form the first women’s national cricket team for the Isle of Man.

Isle of Man Cricket Association (IOMCA) announced this month it’s looking to create a new female squad to represent the Island on the world stage, saying women’s and girl’s cricket locally has grown significantly in the last two years.

As a result, the IOMCA will host an open trial for the new senior team this weekend with any female of any level aged school Year 9 and above welcome to come along with all equipment and coaching to be provided.

It’ll take place at the National Sports Centre in Douglas from 1pm this Sunday (November 1) – those wanting to register to attend are asked to contact sallygreen82@hotmail.co.uk.
