A father and son from the Isle of Man have reportedly drowned at a lake in the Republic of Ireland this week.
According to RTE, the father, believed to be in his early 50s, and son, aged 17, were recovered from Lough Keel on the outskirts of Kilmacrennan in County Donegal following a major search and rescue operation on Thursday (June 18).
Their names have not yet been released by authorities.
A second, younger son aged 15 was rescued from the lough and was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.
RTE also reports it’s currently believed the father and his two sons were fishing at the lough when the man slipped in and his sons tried to save him.
An Garda (Irish Police) investigation is currently underway.
