Isle of Man Ship Registry announces new deputy director – Superyacht News – The Superyacht Report

Toby Brooks has joined the Isle of Man Ship Registry as Deputy Director after working for 24 years within classification society Bureau Veritas. He was selected for the role because of his experience, having previously worked as a senior surveyor, before advancing into technical operations management, business development and project management roles at a global network level.
Based in Douglas, Isle of Man, the Registry is one of the leading registers of ships and superyachts.
This appointment shortly follows the placement of Cameron Mitchell as the Registry’s director in March, who has stated that he is extremely happy with this choice.
“I am delighted with the appointment of Toby; he will bring vast technical and commercial experience to the team and has all the attributes and expertise needed to take the Ship Registry forward,” says Mitchell. “I wish him all the best in his new role and I look forward to working together and building on the Registry’s successes.”
Brooks himself has also commented on his appointment to a new post: “I am very excited to be joining the Isle of Man Ship Registry and am enthused by the benchmarks in quality and service already set. I look forward to being part of the positive plans and focus the Registry has to expand and succeed.”
