A flight to the Isle of Man was forced to make an emergency landing yesterday.

The Flybe BE817 service from Manchester on Wednesday afternoon had to return to Manchester Airport after several minutes in the air as a technical fault was discovered which meant the captain had to shut one of the engines down as a safety measure.

The airline has confirmed the craft returned to ground without incident and was met by emergency services on arrival as part of standard procedure – all 38 passengers then safely disembarked.

Flybe is apologising for any inconvenience caused and says the safety of passengers is its top priority.
