First coronavirus death in Isle of Man | Granada – ITV News – ITV News

An individual has become the first person in the Isle of Man to die from coronavirus.

They had underlying health issues and was being treated at Noble’s Hospital.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK.

The Lieutenant Governor, Sir Richard Gozney joined the Chief Minister to make the announcement.

No further details are being released on the individual at this time,

The Isle of Man closed its borders on the 27th March stopping all arrivals at Ronaldsway Airport and at the Douglas Sea Terminal.

Despite being a separate jurisdiction, the lockdown rules on the Isle of Man closely follow those in the UK:
