Coastguards in Douglas were called out at the weekend after two people in a small dinghy got into difficulty just off the coast.

Coastguard and RNLI teams were called to the small craft on the seaward side of Victoria Pier towards the Tower of Refuge at 7.20pm on Saturday (September 14) after it had been reported by a concerned member of the public.

On arrival, crews quickly established the two people in the boat were safe and well.

The occupants were then brought back to shore in the lifeboats whilst the dinghy was safely towed to the visitors pontoon at the Battery Pier.
