Building work has been finished on a new vessel for one of the Islands lifeboat teams.

The RNLI confirmed this week the new Shannon All-Weather lifeboat for its team in Peel took to the water in Poole this week and is expected to be welcomed to the Isle of Man in Spring.

The organisation announced back in 2017 a new lifeboat would be coming to the station in the west of the Island to eventually replace the Ruby Clery which has spent over 25 years in service.

The craft will now undergo sea trials for the next eight weeks and has taken around a year to put together.
