All beds replaced at Isle of Man hospitals – ITV News

A project to replace all hospital beds in the Isle of Man at Noble’s Hospital and Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital has been completed.

After a period of lengthy planning, a total of 263 brand new beds were deployed at both sites and the task took three days to complete

Before being installed, all beds were tested by the Electrical and Biomedical Engineering (EBME) Department, washed and moved to the wards replacing existing beds, some of which were over 15 years old.

Cath Quilliam, Director of Nursing, said:

This was a real team effort, from the suppliers, Arjo Huntleigh, who brought the beds across from the UK, to the EBME team and all the staff who handled the physical swapping of the beds.

Not only did we manage to finish the whole project with a day to spare, but it was all completed whilst maintaining patient privacy and dignity and providing uninterrupted patient care.
