It was a busy weekend for the Island’s Fire and Rescue Service which dealt with three separate incidents over the last two days.

At around 11.30pm on Saturday (October 24) teams from Douglas and Ramsey were called to a one-vehicle collision on the Mountain Road at the Gooseneck, however no action was required on their behalf.

Meanwhile, at 12.50am on Sunday (October 25) Ramsey personnel were mobilised to the Mountain Road again to another single-vehicle crash this time at Brandywell where they remained on scene for a short time to make the vehicle safe for recovery.

Then at 1.30am, Douglas crews were dispatched to a commercial property on Circular Road in the capital to deal with a small fridge which had caught fire – the flames were quickly put out and the premises ventilated of smoke.
