As Remembrance Day approaches we remember 1,165 Isle of Man WW1 soldiers who went to the Front and never came home.

During the First World War – of the 8,261 Manx men enlisted in the Manx force – 1,165 gave their lives and 987 were wounded.

Tomorrow, Remembrance Day commemorations will take place in the Island’s capital – with a parade on Duke Street making its way through Strand Street, Castle Street, Marina Road, St Thomas’ Walk and Church Road Marina before reaching St Thomas’ Church.

Those taking part will then make their way to the War Memorial to observe the two minutes silence at 11am followed by the laying of wreaths.
