A yellow weather warning for frost and heavy rain is in place for the next 24 hours.

The force came into effect from 9am this morning and runs until 11am tomorrow.

Ronaldsway Met Office has predicted up to 40mm of heavy downpour today and days although it will leave a lot of water on the roads, it’s  unlikely to cause anything other than a few minor flooding problems.

Forecasters say Icy stretches are likely to form on the mountain road and at lower levels especially in central, southern and western parts of the island.
