The Department of Infrastructure says markings on the shared walking and cycling route on Shore Road are to be corrected.

Officials say there’s been ‘speculation’ about the stretch on the seaward side of the highway and a recent inspection found the work done there by the contractor wasn’t up to the required standard.

The DOI says the markings have now been removed, will be replaced in due course and won’t come at a cost to the taxpayer.

Meanwhile, the route remains open for both pedestrians and cyclists.
