The Department of Infrastructure says work is progressing well on a new flood defence wall in Laxey.

Teams have been working to create the structure at Glen Road following severe flooding in the town on October 1.

The DOI says the new wall will be able to withstand far higher forces than the original one and will be finished in Manx stone to blend in with the surroundings.

Meanwhile, the stretch of the highway between Church Hill and Minorca Hill is currently expected to remain closed until February.
