Visit Isle of Man has launched its second phase of a three-year campaign to increase tourism on the Island.
Entitled ‘The Extraordinary Campaign’, it’s been developed over the past year to showcase the best the Isle of Man has to offer for different types of visitors.
Year One in 2018 focused on the unique landscapes, history and culture, with a trailer narrated by local resident actor John Rhys-Davies.
It’s been refreshed for Year Two, and centres on the locals, entitled ‘We Are The Islanders’.
Focusing on six new interest groups, or ‘clans’ – Adventurers, Artisans, Believers, Discoverers, Explorers and Movers – it’s a strategy which draws on three key visitor profiles highlighted in the Government’s Destination Management Plan.
There is also a InstaTour of the Island on Instagram, which allows people to digitally discover new experiences from their smartphones.
Speaking to Energy FM, Head of Visit IOM Angela Byrne says that the interest led campaign is awareness raising:
