More than 1,500 people have signed a petition calling for different ways to pay Island road tax.

The campaign was started this week, saying many residents often find it difficult to pay the full lump sum which is asked for each year.

Those behind it are asking the Department of Infrastructure to consider offering alternative payment options, claiming there is ‘not just a requirement to provide this but a need too’.

The petition has already gathered over 1,520 signatures since it began on Monday.
