Hybrid buses will be used across the Island over the next few weeks, in attempts to reduce carbon emissions.
Isle of Man Transport has confirmed it’ll be conducting trials in support of the Government’s commitment to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The Mercedes Citaro will be used on a variety of routes, with and without passengers, to check its suitability on Manx roads.
IOM Transport says vehicle has a number of environmental benefits, including 25 per cent better fuel economy, 90 per cent fewer emissions and being much quieter.
In a post on social media, it also adds Hybrids use less fuel and produce fewer emissions because they draw on battery power for this acceleration.
