A rider who was seriously injured at last year’s TT has been told any compensation claim must be heard in the Isle of Man.
37 year-old Steve Mercer was badly hurt during a collision in a practice session at Ballacrye in May 2018, suffering injuries to his brain, leg, ankle, pelvis and neck.
An application submitted by the Auto Cycle Union to hear the claim on Island has been approved by Deemster Alan Gough.
Mr Mercer – who lives in Kent had originally requested the case be tried in England, where he feels he’d have a better chance of getting more compensation.
Earlier this year, in April, the ACU announced a series of safety improvements, following the incident.
