An emergency road closure is in place in the Island’s capital today.

Until tomorrow Port-E-Chee Avenue between its junctions with Bray Hill is closed.

It’s so the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to fell an elm tree – which is infected with Dutch Elm disease.

The route will be shut between 9am and 4pm on both days (though the closure may run later if it needs to).

Parking will be suspended in the vicinity of operations to allow a safe working environment – the areas affected will be marked with Police cones.
